The Health Minister is being called on to outline the timeline for plans to tackle overcrowding at the region’s main hospital.

A 17-bed unit in the refurbished old ED has opened at University Hospital Limerick, while funding for the design phase of a new 96-bed block has been approved.

Nonetheless, trolley numbers rose over fifty again last week, after the Dooradoyle facility experienced another surge in patients attending.
