Calls For Government To Simplify LEADER Application Process

An East Clare Fine Gael Councillor is calling on the government to simplify the application process for the LEADER rural-support programme.

Pat Burke is commenting in light of claims that only €118,000 of a potential national budget of €200 million has been spent on the scheme.

€8.9M euro has been earmarked for Clare, and Councillor Burke says some communities here have been put off by the lengthy process.
