Calls In Clare For Beef Taskforce To Meet As Soon As Possible

The Clare-based General Secretary of the ICSA wants the Beef Taskforce to reconvene as soon as possible amid cuts in prices for farmers.

The Taskforce has yet to meet this year, with Clare’s Independent TD Michael McNamara raising the matter in a robust exchange with the Minister for Agriculture Charlie McConalogue in the Dail last week.

Farmers here and elsewhere have been hit wth cuts ranging from between 40 and 60 euro a head for finished stock.
