Clare County Council has ruled out CCTV at one of Ennis’ most popular exercise spots due to a lack of funding.
Mayor of Clare, Councillor Mary Howard has called for trail cameras to be installed at Lees Road John O’Sullivan Park, in light of a spate of vandalism in the area, after trees were damaged and rocks were thrown about on some trails.
The council is aware of the damage and is undertaking remedial work to fix it, but says there is no budget for CCTV or trail cameras available at the moment.
