Calls For Ban On Developers With Unfinished Projects Receiving Permission For Large Estates

The Chair of Clare’s Housing Committee insists no developer should be given the green light for a new housing estate unless all their previous work has been complete.

Shannon Independent Councillor Gerry Flynn is calling on the planning section of the county council to reject proposals from anyone without a clean bill of health.

Under the Planning and Development Act, local authorities can refuse permission for past failures to comply, though it’s a lengthy and costly legal process to do so.
