Plans are afoot to give Clare’s towns a face lift with a fresh lick of paint, starting with Kilrush.

Fianna Fáil’s Bill Chambers has called for the west Clare town to be used as a pilot for a programme which would see one town or village in each of the four municipal district given a fresh paint job every year.

The proposal would fall under the existing Shop Front Improvement Scheme and be part-funded by the local authority.
