Women in rural Clare who want to enter the business world are being urged to apply for a programme that will help them get a foot in the ladder.

ACORNS is free of charge and sees support and learning provided to the successful applicants, while its aimed only at women living outside of Ireland’s main cities.

The programme is in its fourth year and has already helped female entrepreneurs in this county including Louise Egan, who set up a yoga clothing firm in Transition Year in school and is now studying in the University of Limerick.
