Calls are being made for rapid car charging ports to be put in place in Ennis to further develop Clare as a stopover along the Wild Atlantic Way.
As it stands, there are just two rapid charging point in the county – these points can take just half an hour to fill a battery versus the hours that standard ones take.
Fianna Fáil Sixmilebridge Councillor Alan O’Callaghan has urged the local authority’s Physical Development Committee to press for more of them to be implemented in the county town.
