Call To Ensure Drone Activity Is Regulated

An Ireland South MEP says it’s vital to ensure that drone activity in this country is regulated.

Deirdre Clune’s comments follow the recent issues at both Gatwick and Heathrow Airport, where flights were grounded due to drone activity nearby, with the former seeing flights diverted to Shannon.

At present, there are over 11,000 registered drones in Ireland but currently only those weighing over a kilo need to be registered so there are many thousands more.


New laws will require any drone weighing 250 grams or more to be registered and Fine Gael MEP Clune says that’s crucial in ensuring Ireland doesn’t experience these difficulties:
