Call For Ennis Parking Shortage To Be Addressed Ahead Of New Library Opening

It’s claimed parking in Ennis urgently needs to be addressed ahead of the opening of the new County Library.

A Part 8 planning application has been lodged for the new €8.6 million library beside the Glór theatre in Ennis, and it’s expected to go before the council by March.

The 90 spaces currently at Glór are used by staff in town centre businesses and though they’re expected to be retained, Councillor Johnny Flynn is concerned that those visiting the library will also need to use them.

Fine Gael Councillor Flynn believes this will compound the already difficult parking situation in the town centre:
