Cabinet Set To Decide On Wording of Abortion Referendum

The cabinet will formally agree to hold an abortion referendum later.

During this special meeting they will discuss what the wording of the referendum question should be.

This weekend, the Taoiseach told the BBC that Ireland’s abortion laws are too restrictive, and this evening both Leo Varadkar and Simon Coveney are set to outline their views on abortion.

Meanwhile, Clare’s Independent TD says he will support abortion without restriction up to 12 weeks, but Dr Michael Harty says he has reservations.
