Major International Honour For Architect McNamara

A Lisdoonvarna architect has been named as one of the winners of architecture’s biggest prize.

Grafton Architects, led by Clarewoman Shelley McNamara and the company’s co-founder Yvonne Farrell, have been announced as the winners of the Pritzker prize, known internationally as the highest accolade for architects.

The pair are the first two women to ever share the award.

Their renowned works include university buildings in Milan, Lima, Toulouse and London; the Department of Finance building in Dublin and the medical school building at the University of Limerick.
