An exhibition celebrating the life of the artist who painted Ireland’s favourite painting is coming to the Clare Museum.

Frederic William Burton lived at Clifden House near Corofin, and his most famous work is ‘The Meeting at the Turret Stairs.’

The exhibition at the Clare Museum in Ennis will include a sketch and small portrait by Burton, on loan from the Clare Heritage Centre in Corofin.

Meanwhile, as the National Gallery of Ireland also hosts an exhibition on Burton’s life, Dr. Maire Bourke of the Gallery will give a public talk on Burton and his Clare connections at Clare Museum on Saturday, 9 December at 3.00 p.m.
