Clare’s Junior Minister has guaranteed that the new Emergency Department at the region’s main hospital will open on May 29th.
Fine Gael Minister of State Pat Breen is commenting in light of comments by Labour’s Health Spokesman Alan Kelly who has vowed to “embarrass” the health Minister into granting operational funding needed for the new ED at University Hospital Limerick.
1.4 million euro is in place to open the unit in the final quarter of this year, but another 2.7 million euro is required and the the UL Hospitals Group, yesterday told Clare FM that the opening is subject to recruitment and funding.
