A Clare government TD has expressed unease with the number of asylum seekers who look set to be accommodated at a new direct provision centre in Lisdoonvarna.

Minister of State Pat Breen has been speaking seven days before the scheduled arrival of asylum seekers to the centre at the King Thomond Hotel in the North Clare town.

30 are due there from next Monday, but it’s anticipated that number would then rise to as high as 115 over the lifetime of the twelve-month contract.
