The Army bomb squad has made safe a pipe bomb found in Rathkeale, Co Limerick.
Members of the Defence Forces arrived at the scene just after 12:15pm and evacuated a number of houses and local businesses.
The area was cordoned off for the duration of the operation which finished up just after 2pm.

The device was removed for further examination and will be handed over to Gardai to help them with their investigations.
