Bishop Of Killaloe Insists Women Play Important Role In The Church

The Bishop of Killaloe has insisted that women are playing an important role in the Church.

Bishop Fintan Monahan has reacted to the comments of former President of Ireland Mary McAleese, who’s described the Catholic Church as an “empire of misogyny”.

She’s also claimed that the Church will become obsolete if women aren’t allowed to become priests.

Bishop Monahan says that women are essentially running the church through the roles they’re working in and he believes the debate on meaningful inclusion is headed in the right direction, while trying to remain faithful to the gospel.
