Backlog Of €3M In Housing Adaptation Grants In Clare

It’s emerged it will take €3 million the clear the backlog of housing adaptation grants waiting to be approved in Clare.

Figures released by the local authority show that over €1.5 million was approved to people with a disability to adapt their houses in 2018, with €880,000 paid out to the elderly and a further €503,000 to those with mobility issues.

But 360 applications with a value of €2.2m have not been approved yet and it’s estimated an allocation of €3 million would clear the list this year.
