Transport Minister To Meet With Management At Shannon Airport

The Transport Minister is visiting Shannon Airport today to meet with management at a what’s been described as a “critical” time for the Midwest facility.

Shane Ross will stop at Bunratty Castle before making the journey to Shannon to discuss the airport’s future with its top team.

This year has seen a series of blows at Shannon, with the loss of a number of key routes and airlines, including Norwegian Air and Air Canada, while passenger numbers have plummeted.

This led Clare’s Independent TD Dr Michael Harty to issue the invitation to Minister Ross.
