Taoiseach Admits Shannon Airport Needs Government Support

The Taoiseach has admitted that the government needs to get behind Shannon Airport in its efforts to secure a strong EU hub.

Clare’s Independent TD Dr Michael Harty raised the future of the Midwest facility in the Dáil, with a difficult year seeing Shannon lose a number of routes and passenger numbers fall.

Management at the Airport have previously stated that the global uncertainty in the aviation sector as well as Brexit are among the difficulties facing them.
