Shane Ross To Visit Shannon Airport “By September”

Clare’s Independent TD has confirmed that the Transport Minister could be visiting Shannon Airport as early as next month.

This week’s special meeting of Clare County Council, which was addressed by the Acting CEO of Shannon Group, saw councillors call on Shane Ross to officially come and meet them amid growing concern for the airport’s future.

It’s after CSO figures revealed Shannon’s passenger numbers are falling, with the grounding of the Boeing 737 Max aircraft partially to blame, while Shannon Group has admitted 2019 is proving challenging.
