The Transport Minister has ruled out providing additional direct financial supports for Shannon Airport.
Minister Shane Ross has again rebuffed calls for the Airport to be added to the Regional Airports programme, which sees the State support Airports.
The Minister met with Shannon management, in his first official visit to the Airport for a meeting that Shannon officials have described as “very positive.”
During part of the meeting, the Minister was briefed on the challenges for the region, and the need for additional supports to grow connectivity and infrastructure, but Minister Ross has told Clare FM that he wants Shannon to support itself financially
