Former Mayor Calls For Renewed Focus On New Routes For Shannon

A long-time Shannon representative has called for a renewed focus on securing new routes for Shannon Airport.

The Airport is facing into a loss of passengers this year, in part because of the suspension of flights by Norwegian Airlines, owing to the grounding of the Boeing 737 max aircraft.

The airline confirmed that move to be permanent this week, in a move that will hit the region too, with Shannon saying it costs the MidWest tens of millions of euro
