Calls For Aer Lingus To Outline Future Plans For Shannon

Aer Lingus is being called on to express a commitment to Shannon Airport, amid fears over the airline’s medium-term future there.

While Aer Lingus has continued to operate flights from Cork and Dublin throughout the pandemic, the airline has run no flights from Shannon Airport, while last month it was also announced that its Shannon staff were being temporarily laid off.

In the meantime, the airline has also moved to expand its services from Manchester, prompting Newmarket on Fergus Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat McMahon to express fears over its plans for Shannon.
