August Was ‘Wettest And Warmest’ In Over A Decade – Met Éireann

Met Eireann has confirmed that last month saw more than twice the usual amount of rainfall in Co. Clare.

Forecasters say their Shannon Airport weather station recorded 213% of usual rainfall levels last month the highest amount recorded in August since 2008.

Despite the heavy rain, it was also a warm month here in Clare, with the Shannon station recording a mean monthly temperature of 16.4 degrees, the highest figure in August in seventeen years.
