Apple Facing Huge Irish Tax Bill

Apple could be faced with a tax bill running into billions of Euros later – if a ruling by the EU's competition watchdog goes against it.

Officials have spent three years looking at whether the tech firm channeled all its European sales through Ireland, to benefit from our low corporate tax rates.

The European Competition Commission is expected to label Apple's tax arrangement here 'illegal'.

However both the Irish Government and Apple are set to appeal the ruling.

An official announcement will be made on the deal later this morning.
