Appeal For Witnesses After Teen Attacked In Ennistymon

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the assault of a schoolboy in North Clare.

The 13-year-old boy suffered head injuries after an attack by two other teenagers yesterday.

At around lunchtime yesterday, a 13-year-old boy from a school in Ennistymon was set upon by two other students on the Monastery road.

It’s understood his attackers were both aged 14 and from a different school.

The boy suffered a head injury in the incident and after reporting feeling unwell, was taken to a local medical centre and then transferred by air ambulance to University Hospital Limerick.

The scene of assault was preserved for technical examination and investigations are continuing.

Gardaí in Ennistymon are appealing to anyone who witnesses the alleged assault or who was in the Monastery Road area of the town between 1 and 2pm yesterday to contact them on 065 7072180.
