Appeal For Witnesses Following Fatal Road Crash In Galway

Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal car crash in Galway.

A 70-year-old man died from his injuries after his car collided with a truck on the Monivea Road near Carnmore at around 2 o’clock yesterday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to University Hospital Galway.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Gardai are urging anyone in the area at the time to contact them.

Separately, a man in his 30s has been seriously injured after his car hit a wall on the Tuam road between Claregalway and Cloonacauneen at around 5.15am this morning.

He’s been taken to University Hospital Galway.

The road remains closed this morning as Gardai carry out a technical examination.
