The Anti-Austerity Alliance says changing its name is the first step to being able to make a real difference in politics.
The group – which has 3 TDs – will now be known as “Solidarity” and will focus on ensuring everyone gets a share of the recovery.
It says it will continue to work closely with People Before Profit and will become heavily involved in the campaign to repeal the 8th amendment and to restore pay to public sector workers.
