Clare County Council has rolled out a new campaign to tackle the growing issue of dog fouling using graphic posters and social media imagery.
The problem has been raised several times in the council chamber, with the health concerns posed by dog dropping highlighted as the most pressing issue.
The local authority had already offered doggy bags but now, posters have been erected and social media is being used, with graphic images encouraging responsible dog ownership.
