Almost One Million Euro Announced For Clare Towns And Villages

Almost one million euro in funding has been announced for nine towns and villages in Clare.

It’s part of a 22 million euro Government investment under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme, which has been announced by the Minister for Rural Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring this morning.

The scheme, which was launched in April, focuses on projects which can help enhance and develop rural towns and villages, in the hope of stimulating economic activity.

Clarecastle, Doonbeg, Ennistymon, Kildysart, Kilrush/Kilkee, Miltown Malbay, Newmarket on Fergus, Scarriff/Tuamgraney, and Tulla will each benefit from funds raging from 64 thousand to 200 thousand euro.

Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway, who has just been appointed to the Oireachtas Rural and Community Development Committee, has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that it will make a huge difference to those communities:
