Almost €800,000 For Six Clare Towns And Villages For Covid Adaptations

Nearly €800,000 has been allocated to six towns and villages in Clare to help those communities adapt to life under COVID-19.

The funding for Newmarket-on-Fergus, Kilfenora, Lisdoonvarna, Clooney, Parteen and Barefield has been announced as part of the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

€200,000 each has been allocated to Obair in Newmarket on Fergus, as well as for the development of a Universal Access Centre of Discovery for the Burren in Kilfenora.

The monies will also allow for upgrades to infrastructure in Clooney, Barefield and Parteen and the development of a heritage and biodiversity trail in Lisdoonvarna.

Clare’s Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has been telling Clare FM’s Josh Prenderville that the funding will have a big impact in those areas.
