Almost 20,000 people are members of libraries across Clare.
Figures released by Clare County Council reveal that there are 19,711 library members in the Banner County, who between them, borrowed 605,000 books last year.
Ennis accounts for the bulk of members, where 6,421 people are registered members, while 2,585 attend the second biggest library in Shannon.
