“Alarmist” Weather Warnings Dampen Clare Shopping

An Ennis-based retail lobby group claims businesses have lost out on tens of millions of euro so far this month on account of what’s been described as “alarmist” weather warnings from Met Éireann.

Retail Excellence Ireland says wind and rain alerts are putting people off shopping in store.

Ennis and Kilrush Retailer Patrick Bourke says many businesses have taken a big hit to their profits.
