“No Justification” For Low Price Of Irish Beef

It’s claimed there’s no justification for the low price base of Irish beef, compared to our European counterparts.

Farmers in their dozens have attended a Producers Organisation meeting in Ennis, in which calls were made for beef farmers to have more power to negotiate the price for their produce.

Among their aims are securing a new deal with factories, being allowed to sell directly to overseas consumers and striking a deal with local businesses to supply their meat in their own communities.
