IFA President Urges Protestors To Be Conscious Of Struggling Farmers Ahead Of Clare Meeting

The President of the Irish Farmers Association has expressed hope that a resolution can be found to the ongoing beef dispute.

It comes as Meat Industry Ireland says it’s willing to resuming discussions with farmers once blockades at its processing facilities are lifted, but it says the issue of price cannot be negotiated.

Joe Healy is attending an executive meeting of Clare IFA this evening, where he’ll meet with grassroots members to discuss the ongoing issue surrounding the price of beef.

He insists his organisation will do everything it can to help bring an end to the ongoing dispute but he’s urging protesters to be conscious of other farmers struggling to make ends meet.
