ICSA Concerned CAP Cut Talks Are Leaving Farmers “Caught In The Middle”

The Cratloe-based general secretary of the ICSA claims farmers are getting caught in the middle of EU cost-cutting exercises.

It comes as farming organisations have issued warnings that EU grants for farmers could be cut, should the proposed change to Common Agricultural Policy spending be approved.

Heads of state are to meet in Brussels this week to agree on the EU’s budget for the next seven years, which will reveal where cuts are to be made, or where extra funds are being allocated.
