Farmers Push For Beef Reforms As Pickets Are Withdrawn

Clare farmers are warning that there needs to be significant progress made on price, and that they’re prepared to protest once more if that doesn’t happen.

The comments came from the Independent Farmers group, as farmers lifted their protest from outside of the Kepak meat processing plant near Ennis this weekend.

The last of the protests came to an end last night, with farmers failing to secure the increase in base price that they had been hoping for.
