Farmers protesting in Dublin

Farmers are continuing to protest in Dublin city centre despite the Agriculture Minister meeting with them today.

Five farmers that met with the Minister agreed to leave on the condition that if no progress was made by the 15th of December, they would return.

However the majority of the other farmers who have parked their tractors outside the Shelbourne Hotel are not happy with the outcome of the meeting.

The Cratloe-based General Secretary of the ICSA says the onus is on the Agriculture Minister to increase pressure on the meat processor to bring an end to the impasse.
