Farmers Must Not Be Thrown On Scrap Heap ICSA Warns

The Government is being warned not to “throw farmers on the scrap heap” by the Cratloe-based General Secretary of the ICSA.

It follows the publication of a report by the Climate Change Advisory Council, which recommends cutting the number of suckler cows by up to 50% over the next ten years, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This, along with the signing of the Mercosur deal with Latin America and Brexit, is leading to an increasingly volatile sector and farming groups are deeply concerned.
