Farmers Cautiously Optimistic Ahead Of Next Round Of Beef Talks

The Clare Chair of the Beef Plan Group says farmers are feeling cautiously optimistic, with confirmation that all major retailers will now attend the next round of beef talks.

Dunnes Stores is the latest to confirm its attendance for the next Beef Market Taskforce meeting, which is due to take place on Thursday next.

Farmers have been campaigning for the retailers to attend, saying it’s crucial for any meaningful progress to be made, as many of these chains hold significant market shares.
