“Everything Will Change” Post-COVID Says Clare-Based President Of IRHA

The newly appointed Clare-based President of the Irish Road Haulage Association says the Coronavirus pandemic will completely change the way business is carried out here.

Ennis haulier Eugene Drennan of Spa Transport has succeeded interim president Pat O’Donovan in the role.

His election to the top of the representative organisation comes at a deeply uncertain time, with vast sectors of society having shut down, which has impacted all industries including the hauliage sector.

Many hauliers who had been exporting across the continent are now operating a reduced service under restrictions, while domestically, the slump in the construction industry is also effecting hauliage companies.
