Clare Beef Plan Chair Warns Of Knock-On Impact Of Ongoing Beef Dispute

The Clare Chair of the Beef Plan Movement is warning of a knock-on impact on a number of sectors, if a resolution isn’t quickly found in the beef dispute.

Joseph Woulfe’s Comments come as the last three week’s action is now beginning to have an effect on supermarkets, with Aldi the first to confirm that it’s struggling to stock Irish Beef.

The Supermarket giant says that in order to ensure it has a full range of beef and pork products for customers, some of it’s Irish suppliers have had to have their beef and pork processed at plants in the UK.

Joseph Woulfe says the situation is very worrying and he’s been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that it now seems as though supermarkets and processors are willing to anything but pay the farmer.
