Calls For Increased Resources To Tackle Spread Of Bovine TB

A Burren farmer is urging the Department of Agriculture to ensure proper resources are pumped into researching the causes behind bovine TB blackspots in areas like Clare.

The Government’s aim was to eradicated the disease by 2030, but the Department has acknowledged that progress has stalled , and that overall, national levels have slightly increased in the past three years.

It’s prompted calls from farmers for a new strategy to be rolled out to urgently tackle the spread of the disease.
