Abortion Rights Clare insists that while a simple repeal of the Eighth Amendment is preferable, it’s willing to support the recommendations of the Attorney General.
The government last evening published a summary of legal advice it got ahead of the abortion referendum in May.
In it, the AG advised that it would be legally safer to insert a new article into the constitution – IF the Eighth is repealed.
