“Lying Eyes” Appeal Date Expected

Ennis woman Sharon Collins is to find out when she’ll get to challenge her conviction for plotting to kill her partner and his sons today.

The case of the 46 year old mother of two, who’s currently serving a six year jail sentence, is due back before the Court of Criminal Appeal in Dublin.

Her would-be Las Vegas Hitman, Essam Eid is also challenging his conviction for extortion.

Lying Eyes Sharon Collins and her would be Las Vegas hit man, Essam Eid began are just over one year into their six year jail sentences for their roles in the plot to kill Ennis businessman PJ Howard and his sons Robert and Niall.

The 46 year old mother of two formerly of Kildysart Road, Ennis, was found guilty of conspiracy to murder the three Ennis businessmen, along with hiring a hit man on the internet, Essam Eid, to carry out the killings.

Egyptian National Eid was jailed for extortion after he demanded money from the Howards to cancel the contract on their lives.

The unlikely partners in crime always protested their innocence and are still waiting to appeal those convictions with a date to be set for their linked cases at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Dublin today.

Sharon Collins and Essam Eid are not expected to attend today’s hearing but they’re likely to meet once again when their appeals are heard sometime in the New Year.
