8 New COVID-19 Cases In Clare As National Death Toll Rises By 8

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been informed that a total of 8 people with COVID-19 have died.

It brings to 1,658, the total number of coronavirus related deaths here.

Today, the HPSC has been notified of 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Ireland to 25,066, with 8 additional cases confirmed here in Clare.

It appears unlikely that these additional cases represent new diagnoses.

Yesterday, the total number of cases in Clare jumped by 37 as Limerick’s total dropped by 35, with the HSE later confirming that existing cases had been reclassified from one county to another.

Today’s jump of 8 cases here comes as Limerick’s total falls by 13, suggesting that further revalidation has taken place.

The total number of cases in this county is 368.

The HSE is working to identify any contacts the patients may have had to provide them with information and advice to prevent further spread.
