66 On Trolleys At UHL

Hospital trolleys

The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has risen sharply today.

The latest INMO figures show 66 people were waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 49 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is 30 more than the next busiest facility, Cork University Hospital, and comes on a day when 260 people were waiting to be admitted at hospitals across the country.
