Nurses say the region’s main hospital remains by far the busiest in the country, as the week begins.

The latest INMO figures show 65 patients were waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 52 of those in the emergency Department.

The overall figure is more than double the next busiest hospital, with 25 patients on trolleys at Cork University Hospital, and comes on a day when 192 patients were left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
