The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is climbing again this week.

The latest INMO figures show 62 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 49 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is almost double the next busiest facility and comes on a day when 214 patients have been left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
